My name is Jim Wilson, aka Rengajim, and I am your host here at Renga Roads. I have a long interest in Renga which began in High School when I first heard about the form somewhere in the writings of John Cage. In 1985 I published the first Enligh language publication devoted to Renga. It was known as "APA-Renga". In those days there was almost nothing available about Renga in print, very little published, and knowledge about the form difficult to find. Things have changed a lot; now there are online sites devoted to Renga in its various forms. I have set up this blog to share my thoughts about Renga with all those who are interested in this unique poetic genre.
Renga is a complex poetic form. My understanding of the form has changed over the years as my study and practice of Renga have deepened. There is much beauty in Renga and it is my hope that this blog will, in some small way, assist in helping others access the beauty and wisdom that Renga has to offer.
